On a rainy night in the SF bay area…

A man is waiting for his wife to come home from work because they are planning to go to a friend’s house for dinner. Hours pass, the man falls asleep and the next morning he is awoken by a knock at the door. He opens the door to find two grim looking police officers. After introducing themselves the officers ask if they can come in to speak with the man about his wife. The man, horrified, says, “Oh no, please tell me something bad hasn’t happened to her.” One of the officers pauses and says, “Well, I’m afraid we have some good news and bad news. Which would you prefer to hear first?” The man says, “Oh no, well please just give me the bad news first.” The officer says, “Well last night we got a frantic 911 call from a witness stating that they saw a driver on the Golden Gate bridge lose control of their car in the rain, crash into the railing, flip and plunge into the water. We immediately sent out a rescue team, after several hours, we found the car and used a crane to hoist it up out of the water. When we looked inside the car, we found your wife’s body covered in seaweed, 10 lobsters and 8 Dungeness crab.” The man overcome by grief and horror cries out, “Oh my god—that’s awful!!” He then pauses, perplexed and says, “Wait—you said there was good news?” The officer says, “Um, yeah, we think we’re going to bring the car up out of the water again tonight.”
