Kids Banging on Bins

Everyday this old gentleman would be waken by some local kids banging on some trash bins in the alley outside his house and yelling. One day the old gentleman went out and said "I really love your youthful energy and joy you bring here - I am so entertained by you all! here, let me pay you each a dollar for your efforts," and he gave them a dollar. The next morning, as soon as the kids showed up in his alley way, he went out again, greeted them warmly and paid them another dollar each for bringing joy and entertainment into his life. And so on for a week or ten days. Then one day, he stopped going out, greeting the kids and paying them. The kids were like what the fuck, the old geezer expects us to show up and entertain him for free? And stopped going.
