Pirates

A young man gets promoted to first mate on a rich merchant ship. One beautiful Caribbean day there’s a shout from the crows nest. “Captain , there is one pirate ship on the horizon” to which the Captain yells to his first mate “ first mate, quick, get me my red shirt!!!!” The first mate quickly runs to the Captain‘s cabin ,cabin grabs the red shirt and gives it to him . The captain dons the shirt just before the Pirates board. The fighting is fierce but in the end , the merchants prevail. The next morning there is again a shout from the crows nest “ Captain Captain there are two pirate ships on the horizon!” Again the captain yells to his First Mate “first mate quick grab me my red shirt!!!” The first mate does as told ,the captain puts on the shirt. The pirates board the ship and the fighting is even more fierce but the merchants are victorious protecting their cargo yet again Later that night while the crew is celebrating ,drinking rum and reliving the glory of their close victory .The first mate is winners if about the weird request the Captain makes every time so he says “Captain ,why when there is a pirate ship do you ask for your red shirt? The captain answers .” well first mate ,if I’m hurt during the battle my men cannot see me bleed so they will fight valiantly on knowing that I am still strong” Well, the first mate is duly impressed. What a man the captain is to think of such a thing during such a precarious time.Surely he must be first mate to the greatest and most courageous Captain ever to sail the high seas . The next morning all the sailors are lounging in the Caribbean sun recovering from a heavy night of rum drinking when there is a cry again from the crows nest “Captain ,Captain ! there are three pirate ships on the horizon!!!!” To which the captain yells to his first mate “first mate! quick !!get me my brown pants!!!!”
